Interview

Betty Bass, what are you up to?

The Danish singer Betty Bass has released her second studio album, Dreamgirl, and if there’s one person going to have a ’hot girl summer,' it's her. Betty Bass has been a campaign model for Rudolph Care, and now it’s time for her to hit the stage all summer, and we can't wait to experience her live. Follow her on Instagram @bettybasss. See you in the pit!

What are you up to right now?
“I've been super busy leading up to the release of my album Dreamgirl, and I’m insanely proud of the work my entire team has put into this album! So now I’m trying to take some time to relax and enjoy the good weather with my girlfriends. We’ve had some lovely days in the sunshine, and it’s been wonderful to unwind together. I’m also looking forward to getting into rehearsals, so I’m ready for the summer concerts. I’ve missed being on stage and can hardly wait to share the new songs live.”

Where were you 10 years ago?
“Ten years ago, I dreamed of singing on the big stages one day. It felt like a wildly distant dream, very much out of reach. But now I’ve stood on some of the biggest stages in Denmark, like the Orange Scene, Royal Arena, and Store Vega. Even though it hasn’t been under my name, and I’ve been singing backing vocals for others, I think it’s a huge dream to be able to do what I do. I think 18-year-old me would think I’m pretty cool.”

Where would you like to be in 10 years?
“I hope I get to stand on the big stages under my own name and sing my own songs! That would be amazing!”

What are your summer plans?
“I have a couple of gigs as Betty Bass, and I'm so excited about it! And then I'll also be singing many backing vocals for Pil at various festivals nationwide.”

What does a perfect summer day look like for you?
“I love lying in the sun with a cold beer and my little speaker.”

Who would you like to sunscreen up?
“Theo James or Keith Powers. Or both.”
