Christine Sofie

She knows the secrets and happily shares her hair hacks and tips on how to wear sun protection all day. Here are the model’s skincare routines and timeless product favorites.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

“I’ve been working as a model for nearly 20 years, but my career really took off 11 years ago when I stopped forcing my body to be an unnatural size and embraced my curves. Myla Dalbesio inspired me in a Calvin Klein campaign, and the year after, I landed the same campaign. After several successful years in New York, I returned to Denmark, where I now live in Tisvilde with my husband Rasmus Robert and our two daughters.”

“Becoming a mother has made it even more important for me to show that – regardless of size and age – there’s a place for you in the fashion industry. When Covid hit, I couldn’t travel, and that’s when the idea for Force Majeure, which I run with Rasmus, came to life. I’ve always loved art, design, and textures, and now I get to combine all of that when we create interiors and renovate building projects. From our space in Copenhagen, I develop creative ideas, furniture designs, and collaborations – and I love seeing everything take shape.”

What’s your relationship with your hair like?

“My hair and I have a good relationship – it’s fortunately easy and usually falls into place. But after years of styling, it tends to get greasy quickly, and in the winter, I struggle with a dry scalp.”

What do you do if you have a bad hair day?

Oribe Dry Texturing Spray can add a little life and lift to tired locks. Otherwise, I do an updo – a high, slicked-back ponytail is both practical and stylish. A nice hair clip or headband also works. Alternatively, if all else fails, a cap is the only way to go. I’m actually really bad at having loose hair for long periods.”

How do you care for your hair?

“I use a scalp serum from Monpure, which helps with my dry scalp. Otherwise, I try to wash and style my hair as little as possible when I’m not working. When I travel and have a hotel room to myself, I use a hair mask or leave conditioner in the ends while I read a book.”

Any hair hacks up your sleeve?

“My hair hack for minimizing washing is Rudolph Care’s Herbal Mint Shampoo. I always grab it in the airport because I don’t trust hotel shampoos. With this one, I can count on showing up to work with clean hair that isn’t greasy, and I feel like my hair is as natural as it can be. The scent is also perfect – fresh and minty, and it cools a slightly irritated scalp if you let it sit while you use a scrub. I have to admit that it may have a competitor now, the Blossom Shampoo, which I tried on the Rudolph Care photo shoot. It smells even better, if possible. I don’t think I’ve ever left a photo shoot with my hair so clean and moisturized.”

What does your skincare routine look like?

“I cleanse my face almost every day – both morning and evening. The cream and serum I use depend on the season and my skin. I don’t have the time or energy for too many steps, and my skin responds best to ‘less is more.’”

Which step do you enjoy the most?

“I love the feeling of a clean face, ready for moisture. You know, when you’ve cleansed and dabbed with the towel… ahhh.”

What’s important to you when choosing products?

“I typically go for Danish products – preferably the cleanest ones. Otherwise, I choose products I’ve tried multiple times on set, or ones I can feel making an immediate difference for my skin. I recently listened to a podcast where Andrea talked about the start of Rudolph Care, and it inspired me to be more mindful of certifications when choosing products. I didn’t actually know that some chemicals are never eliminated from the body.”

What are your go to Rudolph Care products?

“I’m absolutely obsessed with the Herbal Mint Shampoo. Right now, I’m using the Firming Perfector Serum and Firming Therapy Rich Cream for my morning routine, and I’m excited to use the Time to Glow Peeling Mask.”

How do you incorporate sun protection into your skincare routine?

“I’m actually not great at it, but practice, practice, practice. However, in the summer, I swap my regular day cream for a sunscreen.”

Which sun products do you use?

“I’ve just tried the Sun Balm SPF 50, and it’s always refreshing to have products that can be used for the whole family. So, one in the bag, one in the car, one on the shelf – then I’m usually good at applying continuously throughout the day. If we’re out all day or on the beach, I love using Rudolph Care’s Sun Body Oil SPF 50 for my body. It not only feels lovely but also looks great on arms and legs if you’re going out or to dinner after a beach trip. There’s nothing like saltwater hair and oiled skin after a dip in the sea on a summer evening. Bring on the sun and summer right now!”

How do you care for your body?

“I use a scrub every now and then – and it helps to have a variety in the shower. I alternate between Rudolph Care, Amazing Space, and La Mer. Moisturizing is a must, and Açai Body Balm gives extra love to dry elbows and knees. The Mommy & Me Balm is also a staple – perfect for the whole family on the go.”
