Sofie Barfod, Digital Communications Manager
What are your summer vacation plans?
“I will enjoy my favorite places in Denmark, Samsø, Fanø, and Copenhagen, with all that the Danish summer weather dares to bring. I'll eat strawberries and swim in the sea, put my phone far away, hold my boyfriend’s hand, and nap in the shade with my child.”
Where is the best place in the world to spend the summer?
“I am lucky to have a mother-in-law whom I adore and who lives in one of the nicest places I know. One of the places I love the most in summer is her garden in North Samsø. It’s ‘wild by choice,’ with weeds allowed to grow alongside the vegetables, herbs, flowers, berries – and about 40 chickens my son eagerly chases. The best beach and the most beautiful hilly landscape are just around the corner. There’s a five-minute walk to the ice cream shop and the flea market – and there’s always a soft cat right on your heels.”
What makes a good summer day…?
“Sun! Sea! Ice cream!”
What’s in your glass?
“Elderflower juice. Maybe something with a little buzz, too.”
Where will you eat?
“I will eat everything on the menu at Sønderho Kro (Fanø, ed.).”
What will you listen to?
“I’ll be warming up all summer for the Taylor Swift concert I’m attending in August.”
Which book will you read?
“I’ll be reading ‘Underskud’ by Emma Holten, and I’m excited!”
Who will you slather in sunscreen?
“Myself! And my child, even though he doesn’t always find it fun. But with Sun Balm SPF 50, it’s a bit more fun.”
What products will you use on your summer vacation?
“I’ll stick to my favorites. My morning routine is easy and quick—first, Sun Face Serum SPF 30 and Sun Face Oil SPF 25 on top. For the body, I use sun products that don’t feel like sun products; Sun Balm SPF 50 is the softest body balm with a high SPF—a huge win-win product. In the evening, I use Nourishing Cleansing Oil to wash off the sun products. Then I apply Açai Facial Oil, because it is nothing short of indispensable. And I have really dry and sensitive eye areas – Firming Eye Mask helps me with lots of moisture and care.”
Mette Bergholt Buhl, Graphic Designer
What are your summer vacation plans?
“I’m best at taking things as they come, and I’m super excited to enjoy the freedom with my kids. It’ll be about waking up slowly (fingers crossed), hugging, fooling around, laughing and crying. We’ll feel what we want to do, seize the day, eat ice cream, swim, throw stones in the water, blow bubbles, and just be together. We’ll relax, talk about everything and nothing, read books, explore everything around us, and eat more ice cream! Also, I hope we can find our way to good friends who are enjoying summerhouse- and allotment-life around the country. And then we’re heading to Sweden – red cabin, knee-high grass, woods and swimming lake.”
Where is the best place in the world to spend the summer?
“Hmm… Copenhagen in summer is quite magical. The pace slows down a bit, the streets become quieter, and a special relaxed vibe and a break from the daily grind make me want to rediscover the city. But I also love the change of scenery to the south – the sounds, sights, smells, and tastes of something different. Love it!! Oh wait, the very best thing is to be near the sea and the horizon.”
What makes a good summer day…?
“No plans, just little cozy moments.”
What’s in your glass?
“Rose à Lies from Andra. Moon dust from Kølsters. And tap water (without ice, thanks!).”
Where will you eat?
“I dream a lot about good laughs and good food at Taverna Kreta.”
What will you listen to?
“Amapiano DMV x PRIYANKA Live Mix on repeat, bird songs and city hum.”
Which book will you read?
“’August Blue’ by Deborah Levy. And lots of Pixi books.”
Who will you slather in sunscreen?
“An absolutely cute lovebug!!”
What products will you use on your summer vacation?
“Hydrating Cleansing Milk, because it cleans and prepares me for both day and night. Mist Delight, because it’s just a fresh boost whenever! Moisture Delight, because it’s my face’s friend and moisture and nourishment. Regarding sun products, I’ve become crazy about the two newest ones, Sun Face Serum SPF 30 and Sun Face Oil SPF 25, because together they make my face happy and radiant. Aftersun Shimmer Edition, because it just gives a nice glow and shimmer – perfect for warm summer evenings… Oh, and I can’t forget Sun Balm SPF 50. It works! Especially for a cute little kid’s face.”
Paola Iyer, PR & Digital Marketing Coordinator
What are your summer vacation plans?
“My vacation starts with a trip to Italy with my boyfriend, whom I haven’t seen in six months. We’re in a long-distance relationship and met when I was on exchange in India. After that, we’re heading to Copenhagen, where I look forward to taking him to some of my favorite places, like La Banchina (Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, ed.). It’s a very special place where you can drink wine, eat food, and take a dip. Not many other cities offer that. Then, I’m going to Portugal with my friend to visit my godmother and explore Lisbon.”
Where is the best place in the world to spend the summer?
“Down south. I love the heat. My favorite place in the summer is the small town of Pisciotta, perched on a mountain surrounded by the sea in southern Italy. It’s a very local place, and I love the slow life there. I look forward to drinking cappuccino and orange juice in the piazza of the little town and seeing how the town wakes up.”
What makes a good summer day…?
“What doesn’t it consist of, you could also ask. The alarm clock is on summer vacation.”
What’s in your glass?
“Pet Nat. My favorite is Barbabolla from Marco Barba (find it at Volatil.dk, ed.).”
Where will you eat?
“Pastaria on Nørrebro. I can recommend the pasta with broccoli pesto.”
What will you listen to?
“Tems’ new album ‘Born in the Wild.’”
Which book will you read?
“‘Kun til navlen’ by Linea Maja Ernst. I love her words in Weekendavisen (Danish newspaper, ed.) and look forward to reading her in novel form.”
Who will you slather in sunscreen?
“My boyfriend, he’s not very good at using enough sunscreen.”
What products will you use on your summer vacation?
“I’m a huge fan of Sun Balm SPF 50, which is sweat-proof, sticks to the skin while I run, and gives lovely dewy summer skin. I’ll cover my body in Sun Body Lotion Shimmer Edition SPF 30, which gives the most beautiful glow. And Sun Face Serum SPF 30, because my face loves the good ingredients, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid. I cleanse my skin in the evening with Hydrating Cleansing Milk because it suits my dry and sensitive skin. I moisturize with Açai Anti-stress Facial Cream, which gives so much nourishment and calm to the skin. The body gets a turn with Açai Body Balm, which equals moisture, moisture, moisture, and the softest skin.”
Cecilie Honoré, SoMe Manager
What are your summer vacation plans?
“Well, we’re moving… And then we’ll spend as much time as possible in our summer house in Møn. Strawberry picking, Møn Ice Cream, and beach, beach, beach.”
Where is the best place in the world to spend summer vacation?
“It has to be Møn. I’ve spent many summers there since childhood, with my grandparents and as an adult with my little family. My shoulders drop five centimeters as soon as we cross the Møn bridge. I LOVE spending my time there, and there are so many beautiful and historical places to visit.”
What makes for a perfect summer day?
“Being close to water. Not too many plans. Quality time with each other. Watermelon. A daybed in the garden and a good nap.”
What’s in your glass?
“Homemade, alcohol-free drinks at our summer house on Møn, preggo-style.”
Where will you dine?
“My dear colleague Jose just recommended Bar Amore on Gl. Kongevej (Frederiksberg, ed.). It sounded really lovely. I’d love to sit there on a summer evening with a good friend.”
What will you be listening to?
“Well, I recommend Rudolph Care’s VERY OWN summer playlist on Spotify. The loveliest summer tunes that we’ve compiled into one list. Find it here.”
What book will you be reading?
“I’d love to, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll get around to reading a book this summer. Too much moving and kids on the agenda.”
Who will you be applying sunscreen to?
“My baby bump, my son, and my husband. Maybe the nose of my dog.”
What products will you be using during your summer vacation?
“Gentle Cleansing Foam, which is my go-to cleansing product, always. It’s easy to use in the shower to wash off makeup, sunscreen, and the day’s dirt. Moisture Delight, because my skin has been acting up a bit after becoming pregnant. Moisture Delight hydrates it and seems to work perfectly for me right now. I’ve started mixing Body Lotion with Aftersun Shimmer. I think it’s so lovely. As for sun products, Sun Face Cream SPF 30 is the only thing I use in my morning routine when the sun is shining. I use Sun Balm SPF 50 on the extra exposed areas, like my nose, where I get a lot of freckles in the summer, and my lips (which I unfortunately tend to forget), and I use it on my son as an extra layer. Sun Kids SPF 30 or 50 has become a staple in our home since I became a mom. It’s easy to apply and good.”
